Untitled
Ellen Nanni, Printmaking, Sophomore, Syracuse University

Inspired by ancient Mesopotamian clay tablets and a newfound love for
working in clay, the artist created clay tablets to be covered on a flat-bottomed
base. Tablets were linoleum block printed in acrylic, with base and covering
spray-painted. Created in 2007 in an edition of three.
Ellen Nanni has been struggling with the imagery in her work, and ways
in which to portray her message. Her art continues to go through great
transformations, which she appreciates very much. She is excited to see
where her art goes, and enjoys making and reacting to herself and her
pieces. She hopes to learn as many art processes as possible, and to expand
her work into as many media as possible, as well as to strengthen the
conceptual message of her work.
