Security Management Practices (SMP) offers topical reports in the enterprise security fields including IT and legal, financial and physical security as well as content from fields such as business and healthcare. The database landing page displays the leading paragraph of the latest reports published monthly by SMP, and each report has clickable tags to identify additional reports in that subject area. Coverage is focused on current content back to 2013.

The search functionality consists of one search box, with no advanced search available. This is a downside compared to other databases with more sophisticated interface and searches. However, SMP’s ideal use case is as a quick entry point to current content on a particular topic and there are subject category buttons that highlight often researched and current topics such as AI, cloud computing and network security. The report itself will include 1-2 pages available in HTML and PDF format with references and/or websites that could be useful for finding additional sources.

Content relevancy by SU schools and colleges includes the School of Information Studies (iSchool), College of Engineering and Computer Science (ECS) and Whitman School of Management, as well as others seeking information on computing and physical security topics within a variety of disciplines.
