Connecting From Off Campus

Whether you're a remote/distance student or working off-campus, you can still access library services.

Connecting Off Campus

Only currently enrolled Syracuse University students, faculty and staff are eligible to access licensed resources from off-campus locations. The Libraries licenses a variety of research materials (databases, electronic journals, electronic books and other Internet and web-accessible resources) for online access. Anyone using a campus library or workstation may access these resources on site. Access to these resources remotely by logging in with your SU NetID and password via EZ Proxy.

For more information, see our Policy on Access to Licensed Web Resources.

If you live more than 30 miles from campus, we will mail items to your home. Use Request, Pickup and Delivery and indicate that you are a distance student in the Notes. Books from other libraries cannot be mailed. Library items may be renewed online.

You are responsible for books checked out to you until they are checked in again at the Libraries. To return an item, use the prepaid return label and box in which the item was originally sent.

To access articles or book chapters not available online, request a scanned copy of the item through Request, Pickup and Delivery.

Students who need to access library resources from abroad may have difficulty using the off-campus/remote access options through EZ Proxy. In those cases, we recommend you follow directions to use the Remote Desktop Services via Browser.
