Aditee S. Malviya G’25 Appointed Syracuse University Campus Director for Hult Prize
Aditee S. Malviya G’25 (College of Engineering and Computer Science) was recently appointed the Syracuse University campus director for the 2024-2025 Hult Prize competition, coordinated by Syracuse University Libraries’ Blackstone LaunchPad (LaunchPad).
The Hult Prize is a prestigious annual global competition that challenges student entrepreneurs to address the world’s most pressing social issues through innovative startups, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Each year, students from over 120 countries participate, and finalists pitch their solutions to a panel of experts. The winning team receives $1M USD in funding to bring their idea to life, driving positive global change through social enterprise.
This year’s challenge gives participants the freedom to pitch any idea for a social enterprise, and teams can choose the problem they want to solve and develop a business solution to tackle it.
As campus director, Malviya will organize the local campus qualifier competition at Syracuse University, paving the way for students to progress to compete in the Hult Prize’s $1 million challenge. Winners from the campus qualifiers advance to National Competitions, followed by a Digital Incubator for further refinement. The best teams then join the Global Accelerator in London, with the top six startups competing in the Global Finals for the grand prize.
Aditee Malviya’s background is in web development, backend systems and process automation. Her work as a research assistant has led to improvements in data management and real-time analysis for financial research projects, while her role as an Innovation Mentor in the LaunchPad has helped guide numerous student startups to success. She has also served as the comptroller of the Graduate Student Organization at Syracuse, managing significant financial responsibilities.
Syracuse University’s Hult Prize Campus Qualifier will be held on February 21, 2025 in the LaunchPad in Bird Library. Last year’s Hult Prize campus qualifier competition winner was Moody Magazine, founded by Emma Leuders ’24 and Jennie Bull ’24.
