Bird Library Updates First Floor Service Desks
The first-floor service desks in Bird Library have been updated to provide more efficient delivery of services in advance of the Fall 2024 semester.
The Information and Technology Desks have merged into a single "Research and Printing Desk." Users can ask library staff for help with general information, directions, reference and research help, and printing and scanning help.
The Check Out Desk remains for users to check out books, technology, room keys, etc. In addition, a workstation has been positioned next to the Check Out Desk for users to reserve study rooms and technology items.
The change is in response to user needs and behaviors, including an increase in printing and technology-related questions and a decrease in reference and research questions, as well as frequent referrals from the Information Desk to the Checkout Desk and vice versa.
