Travel to the Prado Museum, The Louvre, The Metropolitan, and browse numerous private and institutional collections in an hour without ever leaving your chair. Artstor makes this magical free journey possible.
Artstor is a visual resource that began in 2004, spans approximately three hundred collections and comprises over 2.5 million images across disciplines and it is still growing. Artstor’s collection is also accessible along with JSTOR’s journals, books and other primary sources.
No other database can provide such high-quality images encompassing a multitude of cultures and time periods. Images can be compared side by side with enlarging capabilities, reliable provenance, teaching and citation tools, guides, webinars, options to save images and much more. Users may contact me at saskiold@syr.edu for more in-depth discovery of this database.
Artstor’s images have been curated from reliable sources and encouraged for use in education and all noncommercial educational and scholarly activities. And additional tools are available for teaching with Artstor.
