By invitation from the Libraries, student veterans created a collection of items from their time in service that hold special meaning for them as it connects to place. These are on display for the month of November in honor of Veterans Day on November 11.

Along with their chosen item, each veteran included a photo related to the item, a description of who they are and the story behind the meaning their chosen object has for them. As a collection, it is a testament to the value of their time in service as it contributed to their personal experience and growth.

See the Service Souvenirs Research Guide for more information.

Many thanks to the veterans who offered their keepsakes, photos and memories for this display: Savion Pollard (U.S. Navy); Tojyea “TJ” G. Matally (U.S. Marine Corp.); Anthony Assal (U.S. Navy); Matthew S. McCarthy (U.S. Navy); and new Libraries employee, Timothy “TJ” Stewart (U.S. Army).
