Jonathan Wess Joins LaunchPad as New Program Manager
Jonathan Wess recently joined the Blackstone LaunchPad at Syracuse University Libraries as its new Program Manager. Wess was an active member of the entrepreneurial community in Western New York, having received his Bachelor of Science in entrepreneurship, political science and human resource management from Canisius University, where he was a student founder of a company called TimeCapsule Family Connections. After graduation, Wess spent a couple of years helping founders and small businesses around the Buffalo area. He later became the Customer Success Specialist for the start-up MemoryFox before leaving that position to pursue his own venture full time. As a result of his efforts in the Buffalo startup community, he was asked to head up the expos for Buffalo Startup-up Week. Wess moved on to the role of Director of Small Business Development for a nonprofit organization called BootSector. Prior to joining the LaunchPad, Wess worked closely with several entrepreneurship groups in the Western New York Region, including serving as a community partner of the University at Buffalo Blackstone LaunchPad.
In his current role at the LaunchPad, Wess will be responsible for oversight of various programs at the LaunchPad, including liaising between subject matter experts and prospective entrepreneurs, coaching and mentoring initiatives, workshops and professional networking events, student talent fairs and competitions, toolkit resources for LaunchPad members, and management of the LaunchPad’s technology platforms.
