Libraries Adds Laptop Docking Stations
The Libraries recently added 15 laptop docking stations in Bird Library. There are 11 laptop docking stations on the 1st floor (in proximity to the service desks), 3 on the 2nd floor (near the Quiet Computing area) and one on the 4th floor (near the playback equipment). Two on the 1st floor can be used standing and the one on the 4th floor is situated at a desk that is wheelchair accessible. These docking stations were added as a direct result of feedback received from students.
All docking stations can be used with any device, whether Windows or Mac, and have an HDMI and USB-C cable connection. Users can plug in their laptops to access the keyboard, mouse and monitor. For newer devices, plugging into the docking station with the USB-C cable also charges your device. There are also docking stations located in the Mower Faculty Commons for faculty use. All docking stations are first-come, first-served.
