Timothy (TJ) Stewart Joins Libraries as Facilities and Security Manager
Timothy (TJ) Stewart recently joined Syracuse University Libraries as Facilities and Security Manager. In his new role, he will have oversight for the overall maintenance, safety and security of the Libraries’ spaces, ensuring a welcoming and protected environment for patrons and staff. His responsibilities include managing the upkeep and functionality of library buildings, including maintenance schedules, repairs, and renovations; implementing and overseeing security protocols to safeguard library collections, staff and patrons; coordination of emergency response plans for various scenarios; and adhering to Syracuse University’s safety and security protocols.
Stewart was most recently the Syracuse Battalion Operations Sergeant Major for the United States Army, where he was in a variety of recruiting roles. He has more than fourteen years of leadership experience and has managed complex operations, supervised staff and implemented innovative strategies to optimize performance and efficiency.
