Apply to the AWS University Startup Competition
Syracuse University student startups are invited to apply to the AWS US University Startup Competition 2021 for the opportunity to win an equity-free cash prize to help fund your venture. The top 10 finalists will pitch their startups to a panel of investors and AWS Startup Team members at a virtual event, and three winners will be chosen for up to $20,000 in cash prizes and $100,000 in AWS Activate credits. Apply before November 1. All start-ups that apply are eligible to receive $1,000 in free AWS credits.
Applicants must be a founding member of a startup and at least one founder must be affiliated with an institution of higher learning located in the U.S. (i.e., student, faculty, staff at a university). Those taking leaves of absence are also welcome. See the competition rules for additional details about eligibility.
Prizes:
- 1st place – $20,000 cash + up to $100,000 in AWS credits
- 2nd place – $10,000 K cash + up to $100,000 in AWS credits
- 3rd place – $5,000 cash + up to $100,000 in AWS credits
- All startups that apply are eligible for $1,000 in AWS Activate credits

November 8, 2021 – Semifinalists selected
Week of December 6, 2021 – Finalists compete
