Libraries Celebrates 2025 Family Weekend

Syracuse University Libraries is celebrating Family Weekend 2025 with a few planned events in Bird Library on September 26 and 27, 2025.
- On Friday, September 26, the LaunchPad on the first floor of Bird Library is hosting its annual ’Cuse Tank competition at 1:30 pm. The competition is open to all Syracuse University students, and family and friends are invited to watch.
- On Friday, September 26, the Libraries will host a “Send a Note Home” event for students whose families are unable to attend Family Weekend. The event on the first floor of Bird Library will take place from 4 – 6 pm and will feature notecards and supplies, a photo opportunity and refreshments for students.
- On Saturday, September 27, the Special Collections Research Center on the 6th floor of Bird Library will have open exhibition hours from 10 am to 1 pm for visitors to explore “Architectural Origins: Syracuse University Buildings, 1870-1970.” Those interested can register to participate in a tour by the exhibition curator and University Archivist Meg Mason from 11 – 11:45 am. The exhibition is also open during regular hours on Friday, September 26 from 9 am to 5 pm.
