Libraries Celebrates 2026 Family Weekend
Syracuse University Libraries is celebrating Family Weekend 2026 with a few planned events in Bird Library on October 16 and 17.
- On Friday, October 16, from 11 – 11:45 am, the Special Collections Research Center will provide a curator tour of the current exhibition located on the 6th floor titled “We Demand!: A Legacy of Activism in America.”
- On Friday, October 16, from 12 – 3 pm, the LaunchPad on the 1st floor will host the ’Cuse Tank Competition. ’Cuse Tank is an entrepreneurial competition, where students pitch their business ventures in a 4-minute presentation to a panel of judges that include accomplished parent innovators, entrepreneurs and alumni. Winners receive prize funding to help advance their business idea. Students interested in pitching must register online by October 12 at 11:59am.
- On Friday, October 16, from 4 – 6 pm, the Libraries will host a “Send a Note Home” event for students whose families are unable to attend Family Weekend. The event on the first floor of Bird Library will include notecards and supplies for mailing, refreshments for students and an opportunity to connect with others on campus.
- On Saturday, October 17, the Special Collections Research Center on the 6th floor of Bird Library will have open exhibition hours from 10 am to 1 pm for visitors to explore “We Demand!: A Legacy of Activism in America.” The exhibition is also open during regular hours on Friday, September 26 from 9 am to 5 pm.
