Libraries Implements Remote Lab for Online Students, Laptops Available for Borrowing
Like other units across Syracuse University’s campus, including Information Technology Services, Syracuse University Libraries has implemented a RemoteLab service for online students to access computers in Bird and Carnegie Library from any location on or off campus via an Internet connection. This service will be available throughout the Fall 2020 semester and enables the Libraries to utilize workstations that would otherwise be offline due to COVID-19 physical distancing requirements. Online users with a valid SU NetID and password can access the Libraries’ computing resources, including special software applications such as Adobe Suite and statistical software. In addition, the Libraries has added additional laptops and headsets with microphones available for borrowing to support the increased demand of hybrid classrooms.
Faculty, staff and users seeking basic computing can access the University’s Remote Desktop Services. More information on the Libraries’ public workstations and RemoteLab can be accessed through the Answers page.
