Special Collections Research Center Launches New Finding Aid Discovery System
The Special Collections Research Center (SCRC) at Syracuse University Libraries recently launched a new open-source discovery tool that allows researchers to search, view and navigate archival collection finding aids online.
The new discovery tool, ArcLight, features include:
- Robust advanced search and browse capabilities.
- Interactive subject headings and names that help researchers locate related materials more easily.
- The ability to save or share individual finding aid components via URLs.
- Customizable views that allow sections of a finding aid to be expanded or collapsed.
- An updated look and feel that retains much of the way information is organized for returning researchers.
