Notes: First used as women's residence named Beebe Cottage, in 2011, the building housed offices of the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics.

On September 7, 2021, the building celebrated its grand re-opening as a space focused on student belonging to develop individual and collective student success. The house celebrates culture and identity while learning from one another through conversations, events, and student and community support. The interior is decorated with works by Black artists.

In January 2024, Sharon Barner ‘79 and her husband Haywood McDuffie made a $1 million donation to ensure that the House will continue to support Black, first-generation, and underrepresented students while being open to all. The building was renamed The Barner-McDuffie House in the family's honor.
