In 2018, U.S. Navy veteran, IVMF Advisory Board Co-Chair and University Life Trustee Daniel D’Aniello ‘68 and his wife, Gayle, announced a $20 million gift to the University to help build the National Veterans Resource Center as the Daniel and Gayle D’Aniello Building. The University was also awarded a 2021 Construction Risk Partners Build America Merit Award from the Associated Builders and Contractors of America. The University won the Building New category, which offers an award between $10 to $75 million.
Construction of the three-story, 115,000 square-foot building began in 2018, implementing standards of universal design and ADA compliance. Amenities include a 3,700 square-foot event space, an oval 750-seat auditorium and multi-media center, classroom and office spaces, a resource facility for student veterans, and a state-of-the-art information lab. Unique design features of the building include a full glass curtain wall surrounding the building, a towering tree-like feature wall outside the auditorium, and rooftop parade grounds.
