June 2025 Electronic Theses and Dissertations

The records for the Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETDs) submitted by the Graduate School for June 2025 Graduations (Spring 2) have been processed and loaded into SURFACE, Syracuse University’s institutional repository. These include 50 submissions from 24 different departments, including:
African American Studies (3); Biomedical and Chemical Engineering (1); Business Administration (1); Chemistry (3); Civil and Environmental Engineering (2); Communication and Rhetorical Studies (2); Economics (1); Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (3); Food Studies (2); Film and Media Arts (3); Geography & the Environment (4); Illustration (5); Information Science & Technology (3); Marriage and Family Therapy (1); Mass Communications (1); Mathematics (2); Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (2); Political Science (2); Psychology (1); Public Administration (1); Religion (1); Social Science (2); Studio Arts (1); Writing Studies, Rhetoric and Composition (1).
In Spring 2 2025:
- Thirty-one (31) dissertations were submitted and their records are available at: https://surface.syr.edu/etd/.
- Twenty-eight (28) dissertations were submitted as Open Access (OA) publications, twenty-five (25) of which are currently available for download on SURFACE. Three (3) additional dissertations will be available after an embargo period.
- Three (3) additional dissertations was submitted but are only available by subscription through ProQuest, though their records are available in SURFACE.
- The OA rate for dissertations this spring exceeded 90%.
- Nineteen (19) graduate theses were submitted and their records are available at https://surface.syr.edu/thesis/.
- All nineteen (19) theses were submitted as OA publications, eighteen (18) of which are currently available for download on SURFACE. One (1) additional theses will be available after an embargo period.
- The OA rate for theses was 100%.
- The overall OA rate for all dissertations and theses was approximately 94%.
