Newhouse School building #1

Newhouse Impact Journal, a new Syracuse University S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications imprint, was recently published on SURFACE, Syracuse University’s open access institutional repository. The full issue can be accessed on https://surface.syr.edu/newhouseimpactjournal/vol1/iss1/13/. The inaugural journal is a compilation of research essays and commentary primarily around generative artificial intelligence, contributed by speakers from the Newhouse Summit, which was held in July 2023. Journal editors are Regina Luttrell, Ph.D. Senior Associate Dean, S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, and Nick Bowman, Ph.D. Associate Professor, S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.

According to co-editor Regina Luttrell, “I am thrilled we were able to launch the Newhouse Impact Journal. Building on the success of the Newhouse Impact Magazine, the Newhouse Impact Podcast, and the Newhouse Impact Symposium, this journal serves as an examination of the most transformative aspects of the communications industry. The Newhouse Impact Journal will provide invaluable insights, fresh perspectives, and forward-thinking analyses that define the cutting edge of communication. I am incredibly excited for our School as we embark on this journey of discovery and innovation together.”

“Hosting this journal on SURFACE allows researchers, scholars, students and those interested in trends in the communications industry—and beyond—to access this critical research freely and openly,” said Dylan Mohr, Open Scholarship Librarian at Syracuse University Libraries.
