Lindy Smith Joins Libraries as Special Collections Research Center Assistant Director

Lindy Smith recently joined Syracuse University Libraries as Assistant Director of Special Collections Research Center (SCRC). Smith joins us from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where she was Head of LaBudde Special Collection and Interim Strategic Projects/Special Collections Librarian. In her new role at SCRC, Lindy will be leading core areas of processing/materials description, collections management and conservation/preservation.

Smith has a master of science in Library and Information Science, with a graduate certificate in Special Collections, and a master of music in Musicology, both from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has held positions of Research Services Archivist for the University Archives at The Ohio State University, Reference Archivist at the Music Library and Bill Schurk Sound Archives at Bowling Green State University.
