Orange Central 2022
Orange Central alumni weekend is Thursday, September 29 through Sunday, October 2 at Syracuse University. The Libraries is hosting several events (free of charge) for alumni. Please register if you are planning to participate.
- On Friday, September 30 from 1 – 3 p.m. alumni are invited to “Meet the Curator!” of Syracuse University Archives and explore the Special Collections Research Center exhibition on the 6th floor of Bird Library title “Student Voices in Print”
- On Friday, September 30 there will be two back-in-the-classroom sessions presented by Grace Swinnerton, Visiting Librarian, and Deirdre Joyce, head of Digital Stewardship and the Digital Library Program, on “Institute for Veteran and Military Families (IVMF) Digital Library: A Non-Traditional Library for Veterans” in Room 004 on the lower level of Bird Library. There will be two separate sessions, one from 2 PM to 2:45 PM and the other from 3:15 PM to 4 PM
- On Saturday, October 1 from 9 AM to 11 AM Syracuse University alumni, former Libraries employees and School of Information Studies alumni are invited to “Welcome Back to Bird Library,” a breakfast with University Librarian and Dean of the Libraries, Interim Dean of the School of Information Studies, David Seaman
In addition to the above events, there are also several drop-in exhibits alumni will find interesting, including:
- Bird Library 1st floor book display featuring alumni authored and SU Press books
- 1972 exhibition, in celebration of Bird Library’s 50th anniversary, Pop Culture, Current Events and Music from 1972 on the first floor and fourth floor display cases in Bird Library
- Special Collections Research Center exhibition on the 6th floor of Bird Library featuring "Student Voices in Print" will be open Thursday and Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, with special extended hours on Saturday, October 1 from 10 AM to 1 PM
