Student research proposals are invited for spring 2022 Student Research Fellowship Program—a competitive, student-centered, research grant program to support student research related to the diversity mission of the SU Intelligence Community Center for Academic Excellence (ICCAE) and current national and global security and intelligence challenges. Applications are welcomed for a rolling submission process until the final deadline of March 15, 2022, with awards from $1,000-2,000 issued directly to the student in an approved student research fellowship.

Proposals from any discipline, as well as interdisciplinary approaches, will be accepted in the following four “insight” areas:

  1. DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION: increasing and strengthening research for diversity and inclusion in the workforce, higher education, government, and beyond.
  2. CROSS-CULTURAL AND INTERNATIONAL STUDIES: research examining cultural, cross-cultural, and international challenges, recommendations, and solutions in any dimension.
  3. SECURITY AND INTELLIGENCE: research exploring national, global, or comparative issues and challenges in security, conflict, and intelligence.
  4. ENGINEERING AND SCIENCE: developing and applying formal or empirical ideas and methods to problems relevant to the needs of the Intelligence Community (IC).

Proposals may represent basic research, applied research, or best-practice recommendations related to any of these four IC-relevant insight areas.

Please submit and upload application materials to the SU Application Portal entitled, “2022 SU ICCAE Student Research Fellowship Program.” The program is open immediately, and applications will be accepted for continual review until the final deadline of March 15, 2022.
