WeMedia Labs help international students connect

Founded in 2019, WeMedia Lab is an official new media team affiliated to the Media Department of Syracuse University. It is composed of students from various colleges in the university. WeMedia Lab is mainly responsible for pushing and maintaining the daily contents of the official WeChat and Weibo account of Syracuse University. The organization is also responsible for holding activities to promote cultural exchanges. Syracuse University has always attached great importance to network publicity. In order to promote multicultural communication and information dissemination, the university attaches great importance to and vigorously strengthens the construction of new media. According to the nature of push content, the organization has established server groups, such as operation group, editing group, video group, and new media group. WeMedia Lab has established a successful information communication channel on WeChat platform. It is now working forward to build WeChat and Weibo into the information service platform, the news and publicity channel, and connector for Syracuse University.
The free international workshop will:
- Help international students, as well as faculty and staff who work with them, understand the landscape and regulations around starting a venture in the United States.
- Help startup ventures understand guidelines around how to build teams with international students, and campus resources available to support.
- Help startups and local companies recruit top talent among Syracuse University students from around the world.
- Help students on visas and new graduates on visas navigate a future path to starting a venture or working in the United States.
