Libraries to Host Hybrid Roundtable titled: “Latino”: Unpacking Identities, Narratives, Roots, and Demographic Diversity
Syracuse University Libraries is hosting a hybrid roundtable discussion titled: “Latino”: Unpacking Identities, Narratives, Roots, and Demographic Diversity on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 from 2 to 3:30 pm EST (1 – 2:30 pm Central). Attendees can register to attend the discussion via Zoom or in-person at Bird Library, Peter Graham Scholarly Commons, Room 114.
The roundtable discussion is based on Marie Arana’s book, LatinoLand: A Portrait of America’s Largest and Least Understood Minority, from the perspective of four Latino/a professors from different college/university campuses. The roundtable discussion speakers are:
- Roberta Hurtado, PhD, Associate Professor of Latina/e/o/x Literature and Culture, SUNY Oswego
- Suzette Meléndez, JD, Teaching Professor, Syracuse University College of Law
- Ricardo Nazario y Colón, Ed. D., Senior Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Chief Diversity Officer, SUNY
- Rich Salas, PhD, Chief Diversity Officer, Des Moines University
